Are There Lots Of Used Stair Lifts Around?

Living with a disability or becoming disabled is a life changing experience and whilst you need to have everything around you in order to make life a little easier, you also need to watch your pocket and so when looking at specialized equipment there are things that you can actually have pre owned such as used stair lifts. These pieces of equipment are found quite often for sale and not because there is a fault with it but like a babies clothes, they get outgrown or the need for them passes on and because they are a decent investment when buying new it is beneficial to the owner to re sell to try and recover a portion of the cost and also that resale will contribute to the new equipment that person may need. Used stair lifts can be found at many outlets and there are also different types and models that are available so you can actually get something that’s the right fit as often sometimes one would settle for a second hand item that’s not right perfect but it’ll do.

Places like eBay and other auction websites are a great place to start looking. Most times the owner can sell it directly which will also bring the cost down as some places that sell pre owned equipment like you would find with used stair lifts, have their dealership mark up on top of the costing and it’s a fixed price where as with auctions you can bid and if you have a little bit of experience in bidding, you can get very good deals. When sending out searches for a wheelchair stair lift, you would need to be quite specific in the type that you are looking for whether it is an incline or platform lift. They are all electric and run on most of the time off mains power, although some of the light weight ones can run of a charged battery, these types are usually only cover a small distance or where the incline is not that steep as it doesn’t need that much power to run.

Used wheelchair lifts are sold in various ways. Sometimes even though you may be spending a little more than what you had hoped for, you can get deals that have combined offers. Obviously from a sales perspective they are wanting to get a stock flow going and of course will offer a discount on the more items you bid or want to buy, often they will create a package for example a wall mounted option, where the used stair lifts are all sold with the relative mounting brackets but exclude the tracks that you can buy separately. So it is not always a bad thing when they offer you more than you initially wanted, unless of course you have everything you need then you would just insist on that specific item.

You may even find some used stair lifts that do have a little bit of damage and may need repair, but these types of older models are not intensively complex and you can find engineers who can repair them for what mostly turns out very economical and with new parts it’s as good as new. With a little bit of browsing around you are sure to find the right kind of lift that you need.
